Everyone desires to be noticed and to stand out. In a crowd of a thousand, however, how does
one warrant the attention?
Clarity Aesthetic
Medical and Dental Clinic, a house for professional beauty and dental
transformations encourages everyone to put beauty into action with their new campaign
entitled Be Visible. With the Be Visible campaign, Clarity urges
people to step out of the shadow, claim the limelight and get noticed.

“Clarity believes that the road does not end in being aesthetically
pleasing. Being beautiful is being visible. Being visible, meanwhile, is putting that beauty into action. To achieve more in life, one has to be
visible in their chosen endeavor. For us, being able to show what they got, show
their self-confidence and become noticeable, that is visible” said Carmie de
Leon, VP for sales and marketing of Clarity.
The Be Visible campaign
is Clarity’s way of empowering ordinary people to fully improve
themselves and achieve a positive self-image. “For the Be Visible campaign, Clarity partnered with John Robert Powers,
which is the leading personality development center in the Philippines and Zest
Air, which is Asia’s refreshing airline. The partnership will strengthen the
transformations that the Be Visible campaign will have for our clients, as they will complement the personality
development side,” De Leon added.
With Be Visible campaign, Clarity will be offering corporations and individuals the “Be Visible
Plans” which includes personalized packages that combines the company’s core
specializations—dental and dermatological services with John Robert Powers’ consultation hours. “With Be
Visible, we are offering free consultations, customized beauty plans from
Clarity doctors, and discounted to free offerings from John Robert Powers, Zest
Air and other partners,” Dr. Lipana added.
“Clarity offers a wide range of services in anti-aging,
whitening and contouring. At Clarity, we
carry the same expertise of Healthway, the name that brought medical services in
top malls and you can be assured that only licensed and professional doctors
attend the client’s needs.” says Dr. Karen Lipana, Clarity’s resident Dermatologist.

I wrote this entry almost two weeks ago right after I receive my "FREE HUGS" shirt from our sister company, phd Media Network. But just as I was about to click publish, something (arrgh hate to blame my laptop but yes, it's his fault) went wrong and I lost the urge to write all over again. Lesson learned. I should be saving a draft on a notepad first. Yay!
You see, its phd's 21st anniversary and they are celebrating it by giving back through their BIG HUGS project. The goal? Raise funds to build five houses for their beneficiary, Habitat for Humanity. How? By selling HUGS. One HUG is equal to one t-shirt. For more details view Adobo Magazine's article here.
Anyway, so I bought a hug and immediately tried it on and asked my ever reliable colleague to shoot some photos hehehehe. Anyway, if you're interested and I think, it's not too late to inquire and buy a HUG for yourself. Click here for more HUGS designs.

Got news today that my poems were not able to make it to the cut of an anthology book. Sad but ey, there's always next year.
I miss writing poems. Editing my poems and writing new ones will really have to wait. I have to practise writing press releases, communication plans, marketing proposals and digital content plans.
I am quite contented with what's happening in my life now. Though, I miss some people from the past but you can not always have everything.
I believe in the balance of things.
And I believe that there is always time for everything. Now is simply not the time yet.

A friend has been bugging me to update my blog. It's not that annoying since another mentor who's studying in the States has also been scolding me for not trying my best to discipline myself to atleast try to read first then write.
I know I have made a lot of promises lately and it's also overrated to write New Year's resolutions but hey, I'm making progress here. To nielz and Allan, thank you very much.
I'm currently reading Bidart and Atwood and a couple of PR books during my spare time. My nieces, Josiephine Marie, Alyysa Mae and Sofia Mariel are taking too much of my time lately since their father, my TWIN brother flew to South Korea almost a month ago. So there, a brief update of the gambler here.
Anyway, here's a not so new poem, I wrote. Comment anytime, just be nice. Happy New Year guys!
Kabiyak
para kay J.D.
Hinanap mo ang kapares
ng iyong sapatos
kaninang umaga.
Nainis ka
dahil kung kalian huli
ka na’y duon pa
nagtampo ang kapares
ng iyong sapatos.
Ginalugad mo
ang ilalim ng kama
ang ilalim ng tokador
ang likod ng pinto
maging ang sisidlan
ng mga bago mong sapatos.
Naisip mo kung bakit paborito
mong gamitin ang lumang sapatos
na ngayon ay nawawalan
ng kapareha.
Minabuti mong isuot
ang bago at kumpletong sapatos.
Naisip mong mahahanap
ang mga bagay kapag hindi
na ito hinahanap.
Katulad ngayon,
natagpuan mo ang dahilan
kung bakit paborito mong isuot
ang sapatos na bigay
ng nawalay na kapareha.

It's quite obvious, my blog has a new face. And I want to thank nielz for doing such a great job in fixing my blog's template, html and all. There's no such thing as free lunch, they say, so nielz is now excited for the next payday to come because I promised a movie and a starbucks coffee treat for him hehe!.
Anyway, yeah! New face-lift, new way of writing stuff, same old home. I've been using tabulas for 5 years now. And it still surprises me that people (friends and cyber strangers) have time to read and even quote some lines from my poems. It's both scary and exciting at the same time. Ok so let me give you a run down of my blog's new look...
1. ENGLISH. After several attempts, including this one, I really hope i will be able to maintain a blog in English. Don't get me wrong. I love Filipino. I will always and forever be in love with our national language. I still advocate Filipino poetry and will still continue writing and posting Filipino poems. Now, changing my blog's primary language aims at two objectives; a. as nielz' say it, I need to make my blog "foreigner friendly". I need to consider that almost a third of my friends are not Filipino. b. I need to practise writing in English. I am not perfect (no one's perfect right?) so if you see grammar errors here, just let me know. I'll edit them and will thank you for taking part on my quest to be fluent in English. I now work for a communications firm, so it's just fitting that I must be able to write, if not perfect, error free compositions.
2. CARDS. A lot of times, people would ask me what's KWAHO? So I thought a littlle visual will do. It has always been my goal to change my wallpaper but as I have confessed, I am not really good in tweaking and experimenting templates and htmls.
3. FACEBOOK. Yeah, there's a facebook like link in each post. Liking my poems or my entries will be a lot easier now plus you get to share them on your facebook account. Cool ey!?
4. TITLE BANNER. again thanks to nielz for the design hehehe. yeah! now you know that my blog's title is Kwaho: Life's a gamble. 'nuff said!
5. THEME. Though since inception, my blog has a theme. But I think with the new banner and wallpaper, it had strongly established its theme and it's all about gambling. Kwaho is a card game my mom used to play when we were kids. It's the same suit of cards used in "saklaans" - an infamous betting game being played in poor Filipino funerals to raise funds to help grieving families with their funeral expenses. The theme is still very Pinoy and close to my heart. It reflects not only my life, but the very Filipino way of thriving a life that depends on luck and faith.
So there you go! An exciting new chapter of this old blog of mine. I will be posting more poems and more stories from an aspiring poet and gambler.
Let me know what you think. Will appreciate your thoughts, comments and suggestions. If you think I am not doing it write drop me a message or better yet, email me at edzpadillo@gmail.com. You can also leave a message on the message box at the right side of this blog.
Again, thanks to nielz. I really hope I will be able to maintain and update this blog as promised.
